Dwarka Goa 7/11/2009 to 12/11/2009

Places visited: Dwarka Beach Resort in Goa - Cola gaav - Ambavali Beach.
Date: 7/11/2009 to 12/11/2009
Purpose: Marriage's 1st Aniversary.
Persons: Harshal, Juilee.

I was about to book Calangut Residency ( GTDC ), when I called Juilee for confirmation, and she scold me and asked me to book something better. She thought government resort might not be that good. I had enquired about Calangut Residency and it was nice and on the beach. But as Juilee insisted, I asked Dilip to search for some better place. He searched for beach resorts and we got the link to Dwarka. But the link was not opening that time, so Dilip concluded that this is a fake resort. But I revisited that link on my PC and it showed up very nice photos. I read the review about it on TripAdvisor and got impressed. I called the owner, Clement, but he told me to SMS him. So we played SMS-SMS for some time and then I finalized this one. I was too much excited to go there. I did not tell Juilee about this booking. I just told her that we are just going to some different hotel.

I have booked paulo travels bus online. But they charged me heavily for sleeper tickets ( Rs. 1000 per seat ) and when I saw again on online that the rate is then Rs. 600 per seat, I called the manager of paulo and got the refund from Pune paulo office.

Aai and Baba packed their luggage for Kolhapur. They left home on 6/11/2009 evening.

7/11/2009:
Mi and Juilee enjoyed the day in the home and in the evening we left home at 9:30 PM. I have booked paulo bus. Beware that sometimes online website shows different time and the bus time is different. I got call from Paulo at 9:45 on 7/11/2009 that the bus is at 10:00, whereas my ticket was showing it as 10:15. As we were at Sarasbag at 9:45, we could catch the bus easily. The bus was AC Volvo Seater ( with mage karta yenyasarkhi seats ). But the suspension was not so good. We stopped at Khed-Shivapur for dinner. As we had already had dinner, we just drank soda and slept like anything in the bus. ( The blanket and water is available in bus as paid service: blanket = Rs. 50, etc., but we took ours from home. )

8/11/2009:
We woke up at 5:00 AM and wished each other for the aniversary. Khup chan vatat hota. Suryoday pahila. We were in Goa at 5:00 AM, but bus reached at Madgav at 9:00 AM, as some bridge construction work is going on near panji. At Madgav Paulo bus stand, Clement had send Santish Cheri to pick us up with the WagonR. The road to Dwarka is very bumpy. At some places, there is no road, just a land. So you definitely need a driver to take you to the right road. After an hour, we arrived to Cola village and then we followed a small track which led us to a parking area. We could see just a car and nothing. Then Sudesh welcomed us and guided us to the stares covered with sands. Then while climbing down, we were able to see a small bridge over the river and then the huts. Juilee's face got beautiful smile and sweet expressions. While crossing the bridge, the scene was the heaven.

Clement, his wife and 2 kids welcomed us after the bridge and showed us our hut which was exactly opposite to the bridge. Clement gave us the key and when we opened the room, ooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww........... it was heavenly decorated exactly like a suhagraat theme, with silky blue bedcover and flowers everywhere and heart on the roof, with a greeting card and Chitale bandhu box on the bed. We immediately took the photos and opened the greeting and found that its in Marathi. And the Chitale Bandhu box... I thought Aai-Baba must have called Clement to keep this or might have couriered this to him.

We got fresh in 10 minutes and went to the canteen where Clement told us that Aai and Baba actually came there and did all this for us..... we are fainted..... No words, no comments. He told us all the story that how Baba first called him and told him that he is my friend, then he wanted to courier all these things, but courier could not reach here so he and Aai came personally. Its a wonderful gift for us. All the people over there were telling that we have got great parents and we are very lucky.

The Clement called Baba and we thanked Baba for doing all this nice stuff. There is only one spot at Dwarka, where we get mobile range. Aai and Baba had booked Goa tour package through Kunal Travels, and they were enjyoing NorthGoa and South Goa tour.

Breakfast came for us. We enjoyed it - Bread, potato subji, fresh fruits. Canteen was on the inclination just in front of the sea shore. It was a wonderful feeling to have breakfast and hot tea while listening to the sea waves. There were 3 more guests from Canada ( Anis was the lady's name ). They were eager to see who we are for whom those 2 elderly Aai and Baba came long way for decorating the room.

The room was neat, clean and tidy with attached toilet and bathroom with shower. The water was little bit salty. There were no insects, no mosqutoes, no lizzards ( except one naktoda ). The hut was about 100 meter distant from sea and on the shore of the beautiful lagoon. There were hamocs outside every room. The resort has around 12 rooms, out of which 3 huts were on the other side of the lagoon and other huts are on the canteen-side. All huts are sea facing, but the our hut was the best one having lagoon facing door ans sea-facing window.

It was a great start. Then we went to the room and slept like anything and woke up at 4:30 for lunch. Lunch was already there. Clement's wife kept it prepared. We asked to serve it and Sudesh Served it. It was tasty.

Then we enjoyed some time on the beach and then we came back to the room. After some time, Clement's wife came to the hut to invite us for the dinner. But we were not feeling hungry. So she chatted for a while with us and suddenly she said that she and Clement won't be coming untill next 7 days. So I asked her to wait for we want to take a photo with those guys. So she went back to canteen and then me and Juilee joined them for dinner. There were only we 2 + 3 canada people + 4 Clement family people for dinner. There was masoor daal, vandyacha bhareet, roti, etc. It was tasty.

Then suddenly, Sudesh came from backside with a dish filled with sliced cakes decorated with the Dhabbu Mirchi and candles and Clement started playing guitar with song "Congratulations, Its Celebrations...." It was a big surprise. We cut the cake. Then I sung "Maze Rani Maze Moga" for Juilee, then Clement sung "Bar bar dekho..." and I offered Juilee a dance.... it was a romantic evening --- an unforgettable one! The evening continued with some more nice songs by Clement like "Imtaha ho gayi, intazar ki", "Musafir hoon yaro", "Jindagi kaisi hai paheli haye", "rup tera mastana". Really a "never happened before and never to happen again" day in our life.

Then we took photo with Clement's family and went happily to bed.

Kadhich visarta yenar nahi asa diwas hota to.

9/11/2009:

The rains were there since night.

We woke up at 7:00 and had tea and breakfast and then we had a big fight. It was the day of quarrels, I guess. Still we manage to get back to our mood, when I dragged Juilee to the sea after lunch and splashed the cool water on her. Then we played there for sometime. And went back to the hut, took a bath and then again quarreled for sometime while having sprite. We saw Golden Eagle, too.

In the evening, we again sat in the canteen watching sea and having some strong arguments with each other.

The rains continued till late night.

10/11/2009:

It was again a wonderful day. ( And the next night was equally terrible ).

There were few rain showers. We had coffee on the beach and then went for a long walk on the beach. We did an extensive photography session. We enjyoed the walk. We also drank shahali.

The lunch was excellent. He gave us papad in the lunch, too. Samudrala khoop udhan ala hota. The sea waves were terrific.

After the tea, Juilee ni ek parakram kela... mala magun yeun bhowwkkk karayachya nadat ti padli ani tila kharchatla. maag mi tichi jakham dhuon, pusun, tila tel lavun dila. In the evening, we went on the hill-top ( the sun was not there ). The atmosphere was cloudy but windy and cool brizzes of wind are touching our skins and giving us a romantic feeling. We sat for a while on hilltop and then came down. Sudesh was the guide for this tour.

As the sun sat, rains started heavily with strong winds. We had dinner in the cafe and were afriad by seeing the sea waves and sound of those. Then we came to the hut but could not sleep well because of the sound of the storm. Madhyech ekda ratri mala jorat aavaj ala... mala vatla zopdit pani shirla samudracha... mhanun mi Juilee la patkan uthavla... amhi tourch lavun pahila taar tasa kahi navhta... to bhaas hota. Pan samudra cha itka aavaj yet hota ki zop kahi shant ali nahi.

11/11/2009:

In the morning, we got up and found that the nice coconut tree at the end of the lagoon has fallen because of the storm. Babanni phone vaar sangitla ki vadal ala hota, tnvha kalala ki aapan kuthlya sankatat sapadlo asto te... Juilee chi punyaii mhanun amhala kahi zala nahi.

Then we took tea and garam garam kanda bhaji with coke. Then we went to the room, took bath ani maag sagla saman aavarla ani maag canteen madhye yeun baslo, beach vaar firlo, maag lunch kela maag parat canteen madhye timepass kela ani maag shahala piyun, bill settle kela.

Then we sat in the canteen for 5 minutes calmly, hearing the sound of waves....to samudracha aavaj hrudayat sathavun ghetla... ekmekanche haat haatat pakdun.

For all the 3 days, we got good service and good and tasty vegeterian food. The beach is very calm and very private.

Then we went to the rooms, took all the luggege and started journy back to the noisy cement jungle world. :-( at 3:00 PM

Taxi took us to the paulo office. We reached office at 4:00 PM and then we went by walk to Kamat Hotel had doas and then we went to local market where Juilee bought some jewellery for her friend. Then we returned back to the office. We took the connecting bus upto Panji and from Panji we got into the sleeper bus. The bus haulted at some veg+non-veg hotel, which was not so good as it was a bar, too. But we took roti and alu mutter and then slept into the bus and woke up directly when we arrived at Pune on 12/11/2009 on 5:30 AM

Expenses:

Rs. 4000 X 3 = Rs. 12000 for 3 nights ( including food, for couple )

Rs. 1500 for taxi to and from madgav - Dwarka for couple.

Rs. 50 X 4 = Rs. 200 ( for 4 shahali )
Rs. 30 X 6 = Rs. 180 for colddrinks.
Rs. 30 X 4 = Rs. 120 for Mineral Water.
Rs. 400 for extra lunchs on last day.
