25/12/2009:

We woke up at 5:00 AM ani sagla pata pata aavarla. Bus came at our stop at 8:15 AM. Everybody was inside the bus waiting for us... when I entered everybody cheered "Ganpati Bappa Mooooooooooooorrrrrrrryyyyyyyaaaaaaa". Then the bus took bahyavalan marga and we picked up Shirish Mama at Wakad. Meanwhile, I have started to distribute Santa caps. Everybody was looking very sweet and funny in those. We sat on the last seat. We played antakshari.

The road we took is: We went from Express Highway till Khopoli exit. We did not take the left khopoli exit, but after that there is Khalapur Toll Naka, where we take right turn on the express way and immediate left and then again left towards Pen ( the express way is on your head ). Amazing road.. hmmmm! The exact directions are there on the website. The road is not that bad.

There is some entrance fee at Nagav Grampanchayat.

We reached Shintrewadi at 12:30 PM. We have already booked 1 villa and 3 cottages. Everybody occupied all the rooms. In the villa, Mi, Juilee, Makarand, Madhavi, Girish, Shweta, Amol Swati, Rutuja, Baba and Shirish Mama; in one cottage ArunKaka, Lata Mavshi, Parag, Swapna, Sara, in second cottage, All Mavshya and in the third one, Prashant family. Everybody was hungry and so we ran to the cafe. The food was excellent. Dalimbyanchi usal chan hoti. Juilee la matra tikhat lagla. Mi khoop papad khalle. Then people were talking about playing games, but soon everybody fell asleep ani ghorayala lagle. We then woke up by 5:00 PM and took the tea and went to the beach. The beach is very near. ( The first ones are villas, then the cafe then the cottages and then few trees and next is the beach. ) People immediately started playing cricket. I stood for sometime there but could not enjoy it, so started taking photos. The sunset was excellent one. The shintrewadi beach is not a private beach, but it is far from the Nagav's public beach, so it is quiet and clean. You will also find the pink shimple here.

After the sunset, we returned to our villas and enjoyed Naav-Gaav-Fal-Ful for sometime. Then we went for the dinner. Prashant took non-veg, others took veg. The dinner was not so much good compared to the morning lunch. Then we gathered around the shekoti for a while. After dinner, we returned to Villa and played patte again. We also enjoyed dumbshareds. Baba zopun gele hote toparyant. Our Villa was immediate next to the entry gate. It had 1 big hall and 2 rooms comfortable for 12 people to sleep. It also had a big veranda.

We had a sound sleep.

26/12/2009:

We woke up around 7:30 AM and went on the beach for morning walk. People started playing cricket. Baba also joined them and aagdi lahan mulasarkha khelale. Mi and Juilee went for the walk along the beach-side taking photos and enjoying sound of nature... latancha aavaj. Ithe special gulabi shankh-shimple sapadtat. When we returned back, the cricket match was over and the team-photographs were being clicked. I joined them as a "extra player" photographed.

Then we went to our rooms and me, Juilee and Madhavi started preparation for games! It was Juilee's idea. She bought all the stuff like paper, katri, tiklya, balls, etc. I drew and cut the face of the Joker and made a small hole at his nose. Also, I drew elephent without tail. Everybody gathered at the cottages at 11:00 AM for playing the games. While games were started I ordered shahali.

The first game was "Straw ni thermacol che gole uchlun galss madhye takane". Everybody played and winners were awarded a gift by Rutu and Sara. Manda Mavshi was a bit reluctent to do all this non-sense stuff, but later she, too, played. Shintryanni Glass ani Tatli detana sangitla "Parat aanun dya bara ka.. " hahahaha.

The second game was "Hatti la sheput kadhne". We enjoyed this game a lot. Sheput kadhli ki amhi tyaa sheptakhali tya mansacha naav lihayacho. Arun kakanni aagdi mojun thevla kagdacha ani hatticha size... mhanun te baslyavvar amhi kagad aadva thevla ani shirish mama sathi taar ulta ch thevla... mhanje magchi kori baju pudhe.. hahahaha khup maja ali.

Meanwhile, people were also enjoying shahali. We ordered more as many people who first said No, drank shahali.

The third game was "Joker chya nakachya bhokatun ball taakne". Adhi lokanni try kelyavaar bhok lahan vatla... mhanun mi te aankhi motha kela. This was a bit difficult game. Aai shot 2 times from the nose. Prashant shot 5 times. I, too, could make it 3 times. Juilee also played very well.

We distributed prizes to everybody to avoid bhandan. Later, we played Sangeet Khurchi for mothe lok. Aai and Kunda mavshi were decided to be the Joint Winner to avoid conflicts. Also, Lahan mula pan khelalai, ani Ashwin jinka. Jinknarya lokanna Khurchi ch bakshis mhanun dili.

Everybody was too much hungey by doing all this dunga masti. So we immediately went to the cafe and had lunch with "Ukdiche Modak". Kahi modak urale te amhi tyaala thevun ratri dyayla sangitle. Prashant ani Lata Mavshi cha thoda bhandan zala tyaani non-veg ani daaru ghetlyamule. Pan te tevdhyapurtach. We returned to our rooms by decideing that in the evening we would go for Birla Temple visit.

We had a sound sleep in the noon But Amol, Girish, Swati, Madhavi, Makarand yancha danga chalu ch hota. As evening arrived, the youth was not feeling to visit the temple, but the boating club. We had a lot of discussion about how to tell the Mavshis that we did not feel to go to temple. Finally Juilee did this job, and she took agreement that we will first go for boating and then to Birla Temple. So we first did boating in motarboat and then Mavshis with Mi, Juilee and Makarand and Madhavi went to Birla Temple. Mobile phones and cameras are not allowed in Birla Temple and there are no lockers for it there. The temple is beautiful with aroung 30 - 40 steps to climb. It has decorated landscapes with marble, watershowers and grasses and trees. We returned back by bus at around 8:30 PM had dinner and then went to Lata Mavshi's cottage for expenses calculation. I paid Rs. 12000 to Arun Kaka. Prashant maze haat chepun dyayla laagla.... hahahaha. Then we returned back, played patte for sometime and fell asleep.

27/12/2009:

We woke up at 6:00, had breakfast-misalpaav+upama, took photos and started for Pune at 9:00 AM. We also purchased bananas from Shintre ( Shintre did not give those free, but he gave 3 gift items ). In the road, at Pen, we stopped at some place for purchasing papad, etc, where Juilee and I bhandan kela, then till Pune came, I did not talk with Juilee as me khoop ragavlo hoto. But later I cooled down. Many people descended the bus at Jangli Maharaj road, to have lunch, but Mi, Juilee and Aai and Baba went home. Juilee prepared mugachi khichadi and then we took rest.

  1. Do you remember "Sagar Kinare Dil Ye Pukare" from film Sagar ? That is Nagaon..approximately 7 Km from Alibag, on Alibag-Revdanda road. Famous place for Coconuts and betel-nuts. ... very calm and quite place.
