Tulapur 12/3/2010

Places visited: Tulapur
Date: 12/3/2010
Purpose: Picnic.
Persons: Harshal, Juilee, Aai, Baba.

I had booked Hedvi trip for us on the occasion of Marriage Aniversay of Aai and Baba. But Baba told that he would not be able to travel so much because of the harnia trouble. So I cancelled it and waited till Friday Morning, when Baba suddenly suggested that we can go to either Ranjangav or Tulapur.
I immediately searched in google maps and packed the necessary things. Baba was telling about Nirgudkar Farms.
Before starting, we gave them the gift - Wall Clock - which I bought a day before from C. T. Pundol, M. G. Road. They liked it.
We started at 10:00 AM from home and filled the petrol and air and then started on Nagar road. On the way, Juilee enquired JustDial about Nirgudkar Farms, but they did not know it. At Wagholi, Baba asked on chaywala and he told us the way upto Tulapur.
PMT bus 257 goes here.
On nagar road, after Wagholi, you will arrive at Lonikand. Immediately after Lonikand, check for a lift trun. There is a board sign too saying "Sambhaji Maharaj Samadhi Mandirakade". Take this left turn and after 600 meter, a small road straight goes to Vadhu gav. But don't go straight. Turn left here and after 5 Km, you will arrive at the place. On the way, there is Fulgav Ashram. At 11:30 AM, we reached Tulapur. We did not see any Nirgudkar Farms there. But we parked our car outside. ( There were no parking fees, though the board was saying it as Rs. 20 ). Then we went inside and first went to the Sangameshwar mandir. Mandir is good and it was cool inside as it is built using stones. Then we saw the Samadhi place of Sambhaji Raje. Some people were painting the place and building mandap as after 3 days, there was a Sambhaji Maharj Punyateethi in there. I felt very proud to be born in the Maharashtra.

Tulapur is situated on the banks of 3 rivers- Bhima, Bhama and Indrayani. It is famous for the temple of Lord Shiva. In this temple - known as Sangameshwar, Sambhaji was arrested by Aurangzeb and was later killed. Tulapur was originally known as ' Nagargaon'. A small temple here is very beautiful and must see. And next to the temple, the samadhi of Sambhaji Maharaj is built. Really a place where we can remember the famous Maratha.
Vadhu is very near from Tulapur where the dead body of Sambhaji Maharaj was brought and then was cremated. So you can see the samadhi at both the places. An idol of Sambhaji Maharaj was put up in 1977 in Vadhu.
After Samadhi Darshan, we went from the backside of Samadhi, down to the river. Aai adhich basli eka payrivaar. Mi, Baba ani Juilee khali gelo. Khup uun hota mhanun boating nahi kela. Boating is available there. There were also many temples. There are 3 rivers. Bhima, Bhama and Indrayani. Bhama meets Bhima at Shel-Pimpalgav and they both come at Tulapur and meet Indrayani and then this Bhima goes to Pandharpur. So they call this a Triveni Sangam. ( asa eka peru viknarya aaji ni sangitla.... nantar ti peru ani chikku ghyaycha agraha karayala lagli... peru chi akkhi topli 10 rupayanna det hoti.. hahahaha... Babanni shevti ek chikku ghetla ani don rupaye dile tile asach. )

Then we took photos of the parisar and went to the Sangameshvar Hoel for Jevan. The hotel has nice huts, but it was too hot to seat inside them, so we sat below a tree. We first ordered Bhakri, but the Mavshi over there showed some resistance to prepare just two Bhakris. So we ordered Tandoori Roti and ate those with Pithla. Aai Babanna pan jevan aavadla. Juilee la vatla ki he faar ch sadha jevan zala aniversary chya manani.

Hotel chya magech chan bajri cha shet pan hota.

We started back at 3:00 PM and just after the Sangameshvar Hotel, we saw Nirgudkar Farms. We decieded to come here the next time. On the way, it became cloudy and started rains with big droplets... and the environment became more humid and hot.

We reached home at 4:00 PM and slept like anything.

Distance: 38 Km from my home (sinhagad road).

Expenses:
Pithla + Rotis + Colddrinks = Rs. 192
