Bund Garden and Barbeque Nation 17/7/2010

It was a long time, we did not go for a food outing. I was planning for some kind of very new place for food. And Barbeque Nation came in my mind. I went their with my US clients once in April and I liked the veg food over there. Its different than usual aloo paratha and matar paneer stuff.

I first planned to go to Agakhan Palace and then to the Barbeque Nation. ( Mi Juilee la sangitla navhta ki Barbeque Nation la jaychay mhanun. )

We start at 5:30 PM ( as it was a heavy lunch and could not wake up before 5:00 ). We were caught up in the traffic jam at Kelkar Road, so I had to take the FC Road. And we reached at Nagar Road at 6:00 PM. Agakhan Palace gets closed at 6:00 PM, so I planned to go to Bund Garden.

I parked the scotty and then I explained Juilee about Bund Garden. Then we first went outside the parking and drunk Shahla, as I was feeling very thursty.

Then we went inside and visited the Jogging Park. It was very nice and with dense trees. It also has good jogging track. Amhi tithe eka bakavaar baslo ani pahila taar baryach thikani premi lok guitar, chakchuk tabla, basri ani chiplya vajvat basle hote. hahahaha.

Amhi ekdum shahanya mulansarkhe baslo. Then we did some photo shoot while walking on the track.

It was 6:45, when we came out of the jogging park and went into the actual baag. This park was crowded by children and people. Horse riding is also available. We took some photos of new and old bund garden bridge seen from there.

At 7:15, we both realized that we were feeling a little bit hungry. Till then, I did not tell Juilee about Barbeque Nation.

I kicked off the scotty and parked it straight in front of the Barbeque Nation. Juilee got surprised. She was happy that we came to some new concept.

I parked scooty on the foothpath near the hotel. As it was just 7:30 PM, not much crowded. We got the place easily. ( After 8:30, you have to stand and wait in a long queue. )

The manager wrote down our name and time and show us a nice table, near to the music band, for couple. We sat and I found the cute smile on Juilee's beautiful face.

( In our life, we always get some happy moments and some sad moments. This moment was one of those happy moments. )

Juilee was looking sweet in that pink top. ( I knew that, hence I forced her to wear it though it had some stains.. hahahaha ).

We then sat for 10 minutes and allowed our nose to set for that barbeque smell ( mostly of fish and chiken :-( ) The waiter explained us different options. We opted for barbeque with buffet. Drinks are not included in the rate. ( no problem, we don't drink. )

We ordered first the mocktells - Pacific Blue ( with Blue curacova ) for Juilee and Spice Girls ( Litchi and Ginger ) for me.

Then we asked the waiter to serve the barbeque. The barbeque menu was exciting.

It had Al00, Mashroom, Paneer Tikka, Vegetables. The waiter was also serving some starters like Al0o with spiced kajoon and Spider roll ( a roll fried with sphagetty ).

The al0o with spiced kajoon was excellent.

While the food was barbequed, I applied chilli and lime sauce to allo and paneer which made them really tasty. Juilee, as a big veggy fan, enjoying all the things. I did not touch mushroom and vegetables barbeque.

The band was playing some english songs. I waned to tell him to play some hindi songs, but at the same time, he started with Kishor Kumar's romantic songs.

Anuradha Marathe pan ali hoti.. pan tichyashi bolna nahi zala.

We ate around 10 sticks and got full. Juilee then took some roti ani dudhibhoplyachi bhaji with rice and daal. I did not take those things. I attacked the deserts: gulabjamun, firni, pastry, black forest.

Juilee then mixed firni with chocolate sauced vaniall icecrem with which we concluded our excellent evening.

At last, they give feedback form. We appriciated the food and suggested them to have a separate section for vegeterians, as sometimes the smells of fish and chiken may make the vegeterians uncomfortable.

We came out at 9:00 PM and reached home by 9:45 PM ( as we shopped for sometime at Hanumant kirana maal store. )
